DC Women's Agenda

The Washington DC Women’s Agenda (DCWA) is a local advocacy and policy coalition that began in spring 2003 to promote the equality, health and well being of women and girls in the District. The group is co-convened by Wider Opportunities for Women and the DC Employment Justice Center.

The group’s guiding principles are to:

  • Support the voices of women and girls in DC and work toward their empowerment;
  • Educate its members and the community about those issues facing women and girls in Washington, DC and efforts to address them;
  • Identify the interdependence of issues facing women and girls and pursue policy approaches that incorporate this interdependence;
  • Ensure that the group’s membership and goals reflect the racial, economic, cultural, ethnic and geographical diversity of the District of Columbia.
