Regional Meetings
WOW held a series of regional meetings across the country in September and October 2010 to release public opinion research on Americans' views on economic security and to train participants on effective messaging strategies.
These meetings provided a venue for advocates and service providers to hear tested messages that the public is receptive to and created education and outreach strategies for their specific niche, with a shared goal and language of economic security.
The economic vulnerabilities facing Americans today are staggering and include inadequate health care, risk of homelessness, hunger, lack of job skills and poverty in old age. It is important that the organizations that address these issues know how to effectively communicate with those they serve and participants left equipped with the tools to do so.
In an effort to make the regional meetings as successful as possible, WOW recruited organizations to become Economic Security Champions. Find out more about the Champions here.
You can use the Building Bridges Toolkit to view resources from the meetings and other materials.
